The blizzard of 2009 began just a few short hours after our evening to giving out toys to the kids. However, the threat of it kept many home, instead of coming out Friday, December 18th. For that giveaway we were unable to get toys from the Marine's Toys for Tots program. And then, just today, December 23rd, the Marines called with toys for us to pick up. We are having a second giveaway, Christmas Eve. God is good!!
Unfortunately, the blizzard of 2009 reduced our turnout at Saturday, December 19th's distribution. But, you know, nearly 200 people came out in the snow to get food anyway. We were thankful we were able to open and help all those who could make it out in the weather. And thankful the electricity here did not go out. There was alot of food in freezers and cooler that may have easily spoiled if it had gone out. God is good! [See history in photos]
Sunday's dinner was also postponed due to weather conditions. We did have Christmas dinner this evening, along with a nice Bible Study for the Christmas season. Many people showed up for a great time of food and fellowship. God is good!
