It was often said or Ernie Hissom, "Everyone needs an
Uncle Ernie." He loved God, his family, his community and his country. A
retired millwright and retired Marine, Ernie also worked on former
Governor Wise's campaign. Throughout his life, he was always
available to help his family at the Hissom Mission. (He is pictured here
with his mother and father at the mission's food drive in the 1950's.)
As the family historian, Ernie worked tirelessly to preserve the family
legacy. Many of the photos here and at the Hissom Mission website were
preserved and provided by "Uncle Ernie". For many years he organized
the annual family reunions. The youngest son of Earl Hissom, Sr and
Tressie Hissom (both in photo), Ernie is joining 9 siblings who preceded
him in death at the greatest family reunion ever!
