Mountain Hop to Fight Hunger is a terrific event to aid Hissom Mission with its fight against hunger. Russ Williamson, the skier, will began his Mountain Hop to Fight Hunger from Defiance, April 8, 2009.From Defiance, Russ drove to Aspen Colorado, where he spent two days skiing Ajax and Snowmass Mountains. Then he drove to Snowbird in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he skied one day. He is on the way now, April 14th, to end the event with 3 or 4 days of skiing at Whistler Mountain's annual Snowboard Festival in British Columbia.
We are taking donations of $.01 (yes, one penny) per vertical foot (the distance vertically from top to bottom of run, not the angled ski run itself)Russ skis at each resort he skis. You can donate for one mountain stop or donate for several or even all mountain stops. All Donations and Pledges received through Mountain Hop to Fight Hunger will go to help the needy of the Kanawha Valley in West Virginia and Defiance, Ohio.
